2018 Tax Roll is Officially Closed

The 2018 Tax Roll is officially closed. The deadline to file a Review was Wednesday, August 29, 2018. The deadline to file an Appeal to the Board of Review (Parish Council) was September 7, 2018. The Board of Review is now concluded; the Tax Roll will be submitted to the Louisiana Tax Commission for certification and will be posted on this website in October.

Any additions, deletions or changes made to the 2018 Tax Roll after it has been certified in October will be reflected by “change orders” approved by the LA Tax Commission and will not be visible online until next year’s proposed Tax Roll is posted in August.

The 2019 Tax Roll will be open for public exposure and inspection Thursday, August 15, 2019 thru Thursday, August 29, 2019.  However, we anticipate the proposed 2019 Tax Roll being available online on our website on or about Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Please review your assessed value, mailing and physical addresses and any and all special assessments and exemptions etc., to verify they are correct. If the address is incorrect, please complete a Change of Address Form and submit it to our office.

If you dispute the valuation of your assessment, please file an Application for Assessment Review.

The legal deadline to file a 2019 Review with our office is the last day of the public inspection period, Thursday, August 29, 2019.

Application for Assessment Review Forms are available at both of our office locations and here on our website. If a Review is filed after this legal deadline, all rights to an Appeal are forfeited. By law, you must first file for Review with the Assessor’s Office before filing an Appeal with the Parish Board of Review.

Property owners are strongly encouraged to check their assessments in August and file any Reviews in a timely fashion before the legal deadline of August 29, 2019. Please do not wait until you receive your tax bill in November to attempt to file your Review.
