Assessor Fitzmorris had the opportunity recently to address the St. Tammany Parish School Board. He shared important information about the upcoming 2024 reassessment, millages, and his perspective on taxes in St. Tammany.

St. Tammany at their annual NAMIWalks event.  NAMI St. Tammany brings awareness, provides resources, and advocates for those touched by mental illness. They’re a huge asset to our parish and Assessor Louis Fitzmorris and our team were so happy to see such community support.

Assessor Fitzmorris and STPAO employees were thrilled once again to participate in a toy drive supporting St. Tammany Project Christmas, INC. What a wonderful job this organization does to help create happy Christmas memories for children across our parish. Thank you to all of the volunteers who make it happen!

Northshore Food Bank

On Dec. 23rd, 2020 Assessor Louis Fitzmorris made a visit to the Northshore Food Bank to make a donation on behalf of all of the employees of the St. Tammany Parish Assessor’s Office. We are so appreciative for the good work the Food Bank does and the needed services they provide to our community – this time of year, more than ever.

Our GIS Coordinator, Michael McNeil, just received his Master’s Degree in GIS from the University of Kentucky. Michael is a huge asset to our team and we are so lucky to have him at STPAO!

COAST Senior Resource Festival

COAST Senior Resource Festival

Assessor Fitzmorris and a few of his team participated in the COAST Senior Resource Festival today at the Pelican Park Castine Center. It was a great opportunity to reach out and educate hundreds of our senior citizens about the Senior Freeze and other exemptions they may be eligible for.

Grand Opening of Camp NORA

On January 29th Assessor Louis Fitzmorris was very proud to attend the grand opening of Camp NORA – a home for homeless veterans where they can find shelter and assistance to help them stabilize their lives. The home, formerly Danielle Inn, is the creation of the local non-profit The Ride of the Brotherhood. Here are a few pics along with a photo of Assessor Fitzmorris and St. Tammany Parish Coroner Chuck Preston who was also in attendance.

STPAO celebrate Halloween dressed in 1960's clothes.

Assessor Louis Fitzmorris and his staff are feeling groovy today wearing our best 60’s attire to participate in the annual Justice Center Halloween Jamboree! Hosted by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, the fun includes a costume contest, pumpkin decorating contest and a bake sale.  All proceeds go to our Covington Food Bank! Have a happy and safe Halloween everyone!

Hurricane Harvey

“St. Tammany Parish Assessor’s Office employees joined together to support Hurricane Harvey flood victims in Texas. We teamed up with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office to support Team Cajun Invasion. They will be driving to Texas Friday, September 8th to make the first of many deliveries. We thank them for all they are doing to help our neighbors in need! Pictured is Assessor Louis Fitzmorris with some of our employees and their donations”.

Association Conference

In June, employees from the St. Tammany Parish Assessor’s Office attended the 85th annual Louisiana Assessor’s Association conference in New Orleans.
They were honored at a special “pinning” ceremony where they received pins designating their recently earned Certified Louisiana Deputy Assessor certification.

Covington Cares About the West 30’s

On Saturday May 20th, 2017 Assessor Louis Fitzmorris and his team from the Assessor’s Office volunteered for an awesome local event: “Covington Cares About the West 30’s”.
They spent the morning with other local volunteers visiting with residents of the neighborhood and cleaning up litter throughout the West 30’s.
It was a great day to get out and help our neighbors!
